Prudential Real Estate Investors Delivers Real Estate Exposure to a Telecommunications Company's Defined-Contribution Plan

Client Objective: To include real estate as an asset class in the portfolio of the corporation’s defined-contribution plan. In particular, the client wished to add various public and private real estate products to, in effect, build a customized target date solution so that defined-contribution participants could mimic defined-benefits investment allocations and return potentials.
Action Taken: Add PREI's real estate investment product for defined-contribution plans to the portfolio. This strategy offers a combination of private real estate and public real estate products. This solution will be structured so that the strategy can be added to the defined-contribution platform as a stand-alone option or as a part of target date solutions.
The unique format of PREI's real estate investment product for defined-contribution plans provides access to funds previously available only to institutional investors. The solution is more diversified in its mix of private and public real estate than other products. In addition, it is priced daily and is therefore appropriate for the defined-contribution marketplace.
